Thermoplastic Pre Heater

Thermoplastic pre heaters melts, heats and mixes the thermoplastic material making it ready for application via the road marking
machine. To ensure a continuously road marking process it is important to choose the proper size of the pre heater.

Pre heaters are designed in two different systems

  1. Direct Heating
  2. Indirect Heating

In both the systems the heat flows through a chamber and heats the thermoplastic material. In Direct heating the flame or flue gas heats the inner shell, which heats the material & in indirect the flame or flue gas heats an oil which heats the material.

Direct heating pre heaters – The thermoplastic material is directly heated from the burner, the flame or flue gas travels and heats the inner chamber.

Indirect Heating Pre heaters – The thermoplastic material is heated by an oil. There is an oil chamber in contact with the thermoplastic material which heats it. The oil chamber gets heated by the burner.

  1. Longer lifetime of the pre heater due to the more gentle heat supply from the burner no overheating of the steel parts.
  2. Evenly distributed heat, safe heating conditions, Uniform storage temperature.
  3. Better material quality and no hot spots in the material as there is evenly distributed heat.
